Some would say that dogsledding in the Colorado Rocky Mountains is magical! Monarch Dog Sled Rides offers a great opportunity to cruise through the San Isabel National Forest at almost 10,000’ of elevation with an experienced team of mushers. Prior to your ride you will learn dogsledding techniques and individually meet your team of mushers before enjoying a 30-40 minute ride through snow covered pine trees.

With tour times of under 2 hours, guests can set up a morning tour and have the afternoon to ski Monarch Mountain, visit downtown Salida or enjoy a lazy afternoon at Tomichi Lodge. Drive time from the Tomichi Lodge winter parking area to Monarch Dog Sled Rides’ is approximately 45 minutes depending on weather.
