Horseback Riding

Guests looking for a true Western experience are encouraged to sign up for a guided horseback tour through Granite Mountain Outfitters. With over 20 years of horseback guiding experience, guests receive proper instruction by professional guides and are appropriately paired with the right horse based on prior riding experience and the height/weight of rider. 1-hour, 2-hour, 2-hour sunset, half-day and full-day rides are offered with rates starting at $35 per person.

 

The riding season runs May through October offering beautiful trail rides along the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. The spring rides showcase Colorado’s incredible wildflower population while rides in the fall dazzle riders with the changing fall foliage. Be sure to bring the appropriate riding gear listed on the Granite Mountain Outfitters website.

Granite Mountain Outfitters are prior owners of Tomichi Lodge and operated out of the property for 10 years before relocating to their current headquarters. They are now located approximately 9.5 miles south of Poncha Springs on Dorsey Creek Road.
